Può capitare che, pur essendo legati da profondi affetti, le persone guardino in direzioni diverse, finendo così molto lontane le une dalle altre prima con i pensieri e, poi, con le azioni.
C’è, per esempio, chi è impegnato a mettere bene in quadro la propria famiglia, magari su uno sfondo di notevole bellezza.
C’è chi pensa che, se si avranno gli sguardi della gente puntati addosso, allora bisogna mettersi in posa e provare a controllare tutto.
C’è chi è preoccupato solo di mettere i piedi sul cammino in sicurezza.
E poi chi, forse annoiato da tutto questo, si allontana e mette in disparte, iniziando a fissare cose come nuvole e stelle — lontane e pericolose.

And then there are those who, perhaps bored by it all, turn away and stand back, starting to stare at things like clouds and stars – distant and dangerous.
